I recently found a couple saw a couple of youtube videos in the niche that I work in and found something that I didn’t think still worked. Both looked to be advertising videos of products from different companies, on different ends of the spectrum completely, one homemade, one from a formal looking trade show. The homemade video panned around this guy’s trailer and described a few details of what he had built. I thought that design was original and creative; a few of the comments below did not.
Video #1
Video #2
The corporate video, on the other end of the spectrum, did not look professionally edited or shot. To me it seemed as if the video was taken of a photo shoot of two barely dressed girls leaning over a trailer frame. No originality, no creativeness, but the video of the trailer frame (with girls) pulled in 7.5 times as many views as the other. Sex Still Sells? I guess that depends on the traffic and the extremely low possibility of it converting. It gives me an idea of an interesting split test, one that probably could not be applied across into that many other niches, but still a good idea.
Youtube is a wonderful place to find all kinds of videos relating to anything on earth, just don't get lost in the ether if you want to get anything done for several hours.
